PORTFOLIO

The following body of work explores the intersections of ecology, heritage, and architecture, focusing on interspecies cohabitation and bio-based material construction. Virtual Exhibition Build - University of Westminster

November 2021 - July 2022

During a peak of the (2020) Black Lives Matter Movement, Edward Colston’s statue was toppled as a form of protest. Thus, in our exhibition, the statue’s vandalized plinth is enlarged and used as a central point to arrange our political projects. This reiterates our studio's ethos, to recognize the responsibility of architects to use architecture as a tool for societal and political change.

V&A Mosque Pavillion - AKII and Makespace Architects

November 2019 - April 2020

The project involves a group of  University of Westminster students collaborating with Shahed Saleem (from Makespace Architects) and  AKTII Engineers on a pavilion set to be installed in The Sackler Courtyard at the V&A Museum by the summer of 2021.  The structure is made up of timber elements and its design is a visual representation of the British Mosque of the 17th and 18th centuries. My partner and I were involved in the technical exploration and detailing of the dome to propose a structure that is easy to fabricate, assemble, and disassemble.

Political Activism Design Studio - University of Westminster

September 2019

My year 3 studio's brief involved understanding the political role of an architect in our society. We were encouraged to propose an architecture that strives for radical societal change.

Walls would often overflow with work, aiding in the visual investigative research process that we undertook to uncover and respond to the political context of the city.
